It’s time to start nominating your local heroes – the inspiring, invaluable folks who play such an important part in our community and help make the region the place it is – as we launch our Dumfries & Galloway Life People of the Year Awards for 2014.

The People of the Year Awards recognise those in the worlds of business, enterprise, arts and leisure, sports, culture, tourism and food and drink – as well as honouring those who play a vital role in their community. We have introduced three new categories this year: Community Project, Young Achiever, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, while the previous Artist of the Year award has been renamed Artist/Maker or Performer of the Year, to the reflect the diverse nature of all those making significant contributions to Dumfries & Galloway’s rich, vibrant arts, crafts and cultural scene.Thank you to all our sponsors, without whom the awards would not be possible. Now it’s over to you to tell us who you think deserves to be a winner.
